Lev Yashin is thought about the best goalkeeper who ever played the game of soccer. Lev Yashin is the only goalkeeper to be named European Footy player of the Year in 1963. Yashin has invented the idea of possession as a caretaker. At the time that the guards are not protected by the referees as they are today, bravery & stunts were legendary. His record of 207 shootouts & 150 saved penalties in a career of 22 years speak for themselves. They always wore a matchless dress in black in the work of playback. Yashin started as the second choice to the legendary Russian goalkeeper Alexei Khomich in Dynamo Moscow, but has established himself as the first choice soon thereafter.
His performance earned him 75 caps of the Soviet Union, the gold medal in 1956 Olympic, 1960 European Championship & bronze medal for finishing third in the 1966 World Cup.
